Driver Training

What are the requirements?
In order to become an Approved Driving Instructor you must:-
- Hold a full or Eu unrestricted car driving licence.
- Have held It for a total of at least four years (you may start to prepare for the examinations before this but cannot be entered onto the register until you have held your full licence for 4 years).
- Be able to read a number plate where the letters and numbers are 79.4mm high from a minimum distance of 27.5m (90ft)
- Not have been disqualified from driving at any time in the last four years prior to being entered on the register.
- Undergo a free of charge Criminal record check.
- Be a “fit and proper” person to have your name entered on the register.
- Pass the register qualifying examinations and then register within 12 months of passing the final examination.
